Maximus is seeking a Senior IBM COBOL Developer to support an IRS client in a fully remote role. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of COBOL experience, with DB2, CICS, and JCL proficiency and an active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI).

The role entails designing, coding, testing, and documenting COBOL programs, updating specifications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. A Bachelor's degree is required, with additional related experience acceptable in lieu of a

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant professional experience
• At least 5 years of IBM COBOL development experience
• Experience with DB2 and IBM DB2 utilities
• Experience with CICS
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsabilidades

• Lead development of software solutions meeting business requirements, design modules, perform unit testing, troubleshoot, and document proposals
• Evaluate new coding techniques and tools for implementation
• Consult on requirements elicitation and definition
• Create, update, unit test, and maintain IBM COBOL programs
• Update documentation (FSPs/PRPs/Visio/diagrams) as needed
• Track requirements and execute unit tests
• Review and comment on IRM/ICD/COH documentation
• Rewrite programs using workflow charts and knowledge of tax processing
• Provide guidance and training to other team members
• Collaborate with managers, engineers, and testers to clarify program intent and improve systems
