Maximus is seeking a Senior IBM COBOL Developer to support our IRS client in a remote, full-time role. The candidate must have an active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) and at least five years of COBOL experience.

The role involves leading development, coding, testing, and documenting software solutions, with opportunities to guide junior staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Strong communication and client-support skills are essential.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; 4 extra years can substitute for a degree.
• At least five (5) years of relevant experience required.
• Must possess an active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI).
• At least four (4) years of experience with IBM COBOL programming language.
• Experience with DB2 and IBM DB2 utilities.
• Experience with CICS.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated success in client support.
• Ability to interface with all levels of management.
• Ability to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision and guidance.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the development of software solutions meeting business requirements; design modules, unit test, troubleshoot, and propose resolutions.
• Evaluate new coding techniques, tools, and modules and implement as appropriate.
• Consult on requirements elicitation and definition.
• Design software solutions per system requirements and code accordingly.
• Perform code reviews, unit tests, and integrate modules.
• Provide guidance and training to other developers as needed.
• Support testing and remediate defects; analyze production logs and data.
