Maximus is seeking a Senior IBM COBOL Developer to support our Internal Revenue Service (IRS) client in a full-time remote position. The role emphasizes designing, coding, testing, and maintaining COBOL applications, with collaboration across teams and mentoring junior developers.

Qualified candidates will have 4+ years of IBM COBOL experience, familiarity with DB2, CICS, JCL, and SQL, and an active IRS MBI. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of professional experience.
• Active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) required.
• At least four (4) years of experience with IBM COBOL programming language.
• Experience with DB2 and IBM DB2 utilities.
• Experience with CICS, SQL, JCL, and batch processing.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the development of software solutions that meet business requirements, including design, unit testing, troubleshooting, and proposals to resolve issues.
• Evaluate new coding techniques and tools and implement as appropriate.
• Provide guidance and training to other developers.
• Support testing, remediation of defects, and production data analysis.
• Consult with managerial and technical personnel to clarify program intent and suggest changes.
• Prepare documentation and diagrams describing inputs, outputs, and logic.
