Maximus is seeking a Senior IBM COBOL Developer to support our IRS client in a fully remote role. The position requires an active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) and a strong background in IBM COBOL, DB2, and CICS.

The candidate should have 5+ years of experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Responsibilities include leading software development, designing modules, conducting unit tests, reviewing code, and mentoring other developers.

Formación

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university; an additional four years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
• At least five years of relevant experience.
• Active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) required.
• At least four years of experience with IBM COBOL.
• Experience with DB2 and IBM DB2 utilities.
• Experience with CICS.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated success in client support.
• Ability to interface with all levels of management.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsabilidades

• Lead development of software solutions; design modules, conduct unit testing, troubleshoot, and prepare proposals.
• Evaluate new coding techniques and tools for adoption.
• Consult on requirements elicitation and definition.
• Design software solutions per system requirements and code per designs.
• Perform code reviews, unit tests, and integrate modules.
• Mentor other developers and provide guidance and training.
• Support testing and remediate defects; assist users with production data analysis.
• Investigate new tools and techniques to improve coding standards.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and training as needed.
