Maximus is seeking a Senior IBM COBOL Developer for a remote role supporting our IRS client. The ideal candidate will lead COBOL development, write robust DB2/CICS-based solutions, and ensure quality through unit testing and code reviews.

Required is a Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of experience and an active IRS MBI. Strong communication, independent work capability, and a collaborative mindset are essential for success in this position.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; 5+ years of relevant experience required.
• Active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) is required.
• Experience with IBM COBOL programming language is required.
• Experience with DB2 and IBM DB2 utilities; experience with CICS.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; client-facing experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently or in a team; strong time management.

Mansioni

• Lead the development of software solutions meeting business requirements; design and implement modules; unit test; troubleshoot; produce proposals.
• Evaluate new coding techniques, tools, and modules and implement as appropriate.
• Consult on requirements elicitation and definition; design software solutions per system requirements.
• Code software solutions per designs; participate in code reviews and unit testing; integrate modules.
• Assist other developers through guidance and training; support testing and remediation of defects.
• Support users via troubleshooting and production log analysis; investigate new tools and techniques to improve coding standards.
