ABB Inc. seeks a Senior Technical Business Developer to lead customer engagement for its 72.5-145 kV Dead Tank Circuit Breakers, bridging product management and sales with a focus on US utilities.

This role supports f-gas-free, digital-ready DTB solutions and reports to the Product Marketing Director, with global portfolio alignment. The position is remote across the US with preferred locations in Cary, NC or Houston, TX, and requires up to 30% travel domestically/internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in high-voltage equipment, preferably with circuit breakers.
• Deep understanding of sub-transmission applications and US utility processes.
• Proven experience in technical sales, product management, or business development.

Responsibilities

• Market strategy & growth - Drive U.S. subtransmission market expansion by developing new utility/EPC/OEM opportunities, shaping go-to-market plans, and securing product homologation.
• Technical leadership - Act as the primary technical interface, leading configuration discussions, advanced feature evaluations, and presales solution design.
• Standards & industry influence - Ensure IEEE/ANSI compliance, represent the company in industry bodies, and help shape evolving technical specifications.
• Partnerships & product innovation - Build strategic ecosystem relationships while channeling customer insights to guide product evolution, digital integration, and SF6-free technology adoption.
