Job summary

ABB seeks a Senior Technical Business Developer to lead customer engagement for the 72.5-145 kV Dead Tank Circuit Breakers. This hybrid role blends product management and sales to meet evolving utility needs with SF6-free, digital-ready DTB solutions.

Remote position open to US candidates, with preferred sites in Cary, NC or Houston, TX. Reports to Product Marketing Director and Global Portfolio Management of Grid Components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in high-voltage equipment, preferably circuit breakers.
• Deep understanding of sub-transmission applications and US utility processes.
• Experience in technical sales, product management, or business development.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with vacuum interrupter tech and SF6-free solutions/regulation.
• Familiarity with IEEE/ANSI standards.
• Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Drive U.S. subtransmission market expansion with new utility/EPC/OEM opportunities.
• Lead configuration discussions, feature evaluations, and presales solution design.
• Ensure IEEE/ANSI compliance and represent ABB in industry bodies.
• Build strategic ecosystem partnerships and guide product evolution and digital integration.
