Job summary
ABB Inc. seeks a Senior Technical Business Developer to lead customer engagement for the 72.5-145 kV Dead Tank Breakers. This hybrid role spans product management and sales, ensuring SF6-free, digital-ready DTB solutions meet evolving utility needs and position ABB as a market leader. Remote US-wide role with preference for Cary, NC or Houston, TX.
The position reports to the Product Marketing Director and collaborates with Global Portfolio Management of Grid Components.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in high voltage equipment.
- Deep understanding of sub-transmission applications and US utility processes.
- Proven experience in technical sales, product management, or business development.
- Experience with vacuum interrupter technology and SF6-free solutions/regulation.
Responsibilities
- Market strategy & growth - Drive US subtransmission market expansion and secure opportunities.
- Technical leadership - lead configuration discussions and presales solution design.
- Standards & industry influence - ensure IEEE/ANSI compliance and representation.
- Partnerships & product innovation - build ecosystem relationships and guide product evolution.
