Job summary

ABB is seeking a Senior Technical Business Developer to drive the expansion of the Grid Automation portfolio in the U.S. You will lead market strategy, act as a grid automation SME, and guide presales from architecture to implementation, engaging utilities and partners.

Remote position with preference for Cary, NC or Houston, TX. Requires travel up to 30% and deep knowledge of IEEE/IEC standards and digital substations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
• 9+ years of experience in technical business development, preferably in grid automation or power systems.
• Deep understanding of U.S. utility market dynamics, standards (IEEE, IEC 61850), and digital substation architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead market strategy and identify opportunities in U.S. utility/industrial automation segments.
• Serve as grid automation SME; lead presales technical activities and support solution design.
• Influence standards development by engaging with IEEE/IEC groups and interoperability workstreams.
• Build strategic partnerships and represent ABB at industry forums to evolve grid offerings.
