ABB in the United States seeks a Senior Technical Business Developer to drive growth for the Grid Automation portfolio. You will connect advanced grid technologies with a focused market penetration strategy, engaging utilities and key partners across the country.

This remote role reports to the Product Marketing Director and may require up to 30% travel, with preferred locations Cary, NC or Houston, TX. You will shape solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impact.

Qualifications

9+ years of experience in technical business development, preferably in grid automation or power systems.
Deep understanding of US utility market dynamics, IEEE/IEC 61850 standards, and digital substation architectures.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with SaaS or subscription-based business models in the energy sector.

Responsibilities

Lead market strategy for US grid automation growth and engage utilities and partners.
Act as a grid-automation SME, drive presales technical activities and assist solution design.
Contribute to standards work with IEEE/IEC to shape grid automation interoperability.
Build strategic partnerships and capture field insights to evolve offerings.
