Job summary
SOLV Energy is seeking a Principal Fire Protection Engineer to serve as the technical authority for fire and life safety systems across energy storage and power projects. This role emphasizes codes compliance, safety, and cost-effective delivery from design through commissioning.

Qualifications
- 10+ years of fire protection engineering experience in energy infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related discipline.
- P.E. license preferred.
- Experience with AHJs and permitting processes.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA, IBC, UL 9540/9540A, UL 855 codes.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
Responsibilities
- Provide SME on fire protection for energy storage and power projects.
- Develop company standards, design criteria, and best practices.
- Lead national fire protection code committees and contribute expertise.
- Interface with AHJs, insurers, and engineers; travel as needed.
- Oversee BESS fire protection system design and testing.
- Collaborate with electrical/SCADA teams for integration.
- Support testing and commissioning of fire protection systems.
