Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Principal Fire Protection Engineer to lead fire and life safety across utility-scale energy storage, power, and industrial EPC projects. You will ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client specs from concept through commissioning, with a focus on risk reduction and cost-effectiveness.

The role is fully remote within the United States; travel up to 25% may be required. You will interact with AHJs, insurers, and engineers to drive design excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Proven experience with AHJs, code officials, and regulatory approvals.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA, IBC, UL 9540/9540A, UL855 and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME guidance on complex fire safety challenges and risk mitigation.
• Establish company-wide engineering standards, design criteria, and best practices.
• Lead national fire protection code and standards committees for energy storage fire and life safety.
• Interface with AHJs, fire marshals, insurers, and independent engineers; travel as needed.
