Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Principal Fire Protection Engineer to lead fire and life safety systems for utility-scale energy storage, power, and industrial EPC projects. This fully remote role requires expertise in codes, standards, and client specifications from concept through commissioning.

The candidate will interface with AHJs, insurers, and external engineers; develop design basis, oversee EORs, and ensure QA/QC across projects. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of fire protection engineering experience; 2+ years in energy infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on fire safety challenges and risk mitigation.
• Establish company-wide engineering standards and design criteria.
• Lead national fire protection code and standards committees; interface with AHJs, insurers, and engineers.
• Travel to attend in-person meetings as required.
• Develop basis-of-design documents for fire protection systems.
