Job summary
SOLV Energy is seeking a Principal Fire Protection Engineer to act as the technical authority for fire and life safety systems across utility-scale energy storage, power, and industrial EPC projects. The role ensures compliance with codes, standards, and client specs while guiding safe, cost-effective delivery from design through commissioning.
This is a fully remote role; location specifics will be discussed during interview.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution.
- P.E. license in Fire Protection Engineering preferred.
- Experience with AHJs, fire marshals, and permitting for complex systems.
- Strong understanding of fire protection engineering principles and codes.
Responsibilities
- Provide SME guidance on complex fire safety challenges and risk mitigation.
- Establish company-wide engineering standards and design criteria.
- Lead national fire protection code/standards committees and interface with AHJs.
- Oversee fire protection for EOR firms, vendors, and project scopes.
- Collaborate with electrical/SCADA teams for design consistency.
- Support testing, commissioning, and design optimization for cost/performance.
