Job summary

PerkinElmer is seeking a Customer Service Engineer to support field service activities across the United Kingdom with remote work options. You will perform repairs, maintenance, training, and installations, while ensuring QA-compliant documentation and inventory control.

The role requires a strong background in electronic instrumentation or related science, a driving licence, and extensive customer service experience. Occasional travel to Ireland and mainland Europe is expected.

Qualifications

• HND or equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Science, Biotechnology or similar discipline.
• Full Driving License.
• 5 years experience in a Scientific or Customer Service Environment.
• Experience of working in GMP environments preferred.
• Understanding of analytical techniques, applications and instrumentation a benefit.
• Incumbent must have excellent people management and motivational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform field service as advised by dispatch staff and team leader, including repairs, maintenance, qualifications, and installation.
• Provide onsite user training on defined product groups.
• Organize routine maintenance allocated monthly.
• For overseas sites, perform service to standard expected at overseas customers.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation, diagrams, manuals per QA system.
• Align with department performance targets and demonstrate compliance.
• Maintain service spares inventory and report anomalies.
• Ensure tools and test equipment are calibrated as required.
• Submit completed service documentation weekly.
• May undertake additional tasks as defined in company goals.
• Promote instruments and service contracts.
