Job summary

PerkinElmer is seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform on-site installations, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of complex laboratory equipment. You will train customers on operation and maintenance while acting as the liaison for administrative and technical matters on assigned projects.

Location is remote with service to customers in New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, Washington D.C., and Virginia; overnight travel will be required, up to 50% of the time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in applied science or related field with 3 years direct repair experience for lab equipment, or
• Associate degree with 5 years direct repair experience, or
• High school diploma with 7+ years direct repair experience in laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform installations, maintenance, validations, and repairs to PerkinElmer standards.
• Engage with customers to understand workflows and tailor service offerings, including training and upgrades.
• Identify revenue opportunities through billable work, consumables, and service leads.
• Maintain assigned assets, tools, test equipment, and service parts inventory.
• Report improvements via the quality notification process and participate in training offerings.
• Complete administrative tasks including time reporting and training commitments.
• Maintain safety, health, environmental, and operational compliance.
