Job summary

Cribl is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a remote-first, cross-functional team of SDETs responsible for the quality and reliability of Cribl products. This hands-on leadership role emphasizes building quality from design through release and driving test strategy, automation, and metrics across the organization.

You will foster a customer-first mindset, partner with product and engineering management, and mentor a remote team to continuously improve testing and release processes.

Qualifications

• BS CS/EE or equivalent practical experience with 10+ years in industry.
• 4+ years in a technical leadership role.
• Hands-on experience in establishing testing strategy and defining quality metrics for SaaS and customer-managed environments.
• Strong understanding of test architecture, automation, CI/CD, observability, release management, and root-cause analysis.
• Thorough understanding of the SDLC and the changes required for agentic development.

Responsibilities

• Lead a remote-first, cross-functional team of SDETs ensuring quality and reliability of Cribl products.
• Own the quality strategy across Cribl products and communicate metrics for data-driven prioritization.
• Drive continuous improvement in test automation, CI stability, defect prevention, and root-cause analysis.
• Optimize end-to-end pipelines for quality and velocity, removing bottlenecks for agentic workflows.
• Foster a customer-first mindset by closing testing gaps with customer deployments.
• Partner with product management and engineering managers to implement quality standards from the start.
• Coach, mentor, and grow a remote-first team of exceptional test engineers.
• May include stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties.
