Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC International is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Underwriter focused on middle‑market opportunities. This remote role requires extensive E&S construction underwriting experience, independently managing a book of larger, complex contractor accounts, and applying company guidelines to grow profitable business.

The candidate will evaluate new/renewal applications, liaise with brokers, maintain thorough documentation, and pursue professional designations such as RPLU,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in E&S construction underwriting.
• Experience underwriting middle‑market contractor accounts.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Understand and manage larger, more complex accounts.
• Studies toward professional designations encouraged (RPLU/CPCU/AU/CIC).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications and related docs to classify risk, set rating and pricing.
• Respond to broker inquiries within designated timeframe as underwriting resource.
• Create and maintain bound files and underwriting worksheets and doc history.
• Adhere to underwriting directives, guidelines, and policies.
• Serve as a resource to staff on procedures and guidelines.
• Develop understanding of factors affecting policy rating and risk.
