Job summary

YA Group is seeking a Senior Managing Accident Reconstructionist to lead a team of experts in vehicular crash investigations, applying advanced engineering to determine contributing factors and prepare expert conclusions.

The role requires travel to accident sites, use of crash simulation software, 3D modeling with forensic animators, and collaboration with clients, insurance carriers and legal teams. Remote work is allowed nationwide.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 10+ years in biomechanics, accident reconstruction, premises liability, or related work.
• PE license, ACTAR certification, and/or SAE certification.
• Advanced expertise in collision dynamics (including impact and departure speeds).
• Strong background in automotive engineering and control systems.
• Experience with insurance carriers, attorneys, and/or adjusters.
• Experience performing computer simulations.
• Highly proficient in CAD.
• Deposition/testimony experience a plus.
• Based in or willing to relocate to the job location.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of experts in conducting accident investigations by traveling to and documenting accident scenes, downloading vehicle data recorders, performing analysis using crash software, writing reports, and providing litigation support.
• Handle large, complex projects and manage all aspects from start to finish.
• Support business development by maintaining client rapport and generating new work for themselves and the team.
• Partner with business development representatives, attend conferences to promote the company and skills of staff.
• Communicate scope of work, tasks, budget, and ensure timelines and deliverables are met.
• Ensure workload is evenly distributed among experts.
• Mentor and guide a team in all project aspects and deliverables.
• Provide expert testimony in depositions or trials when requested.
• Perform vehicular investigations including documenting crash scenes and using 3D scanners, photography, drones, and EDRs.
• Research literature to advance techniques in reconstruction.
