Job summary

YA Group, a leading forensic consulting firm, seeks a Senior Accident Reconstructionist to join our nationwide remote team. You will conduct investigations at crash scenes, use specialized software to reconstruct events, and support litigation with expert testimony and comprehensive reports.

Ideal candidates hold a Mechanical Engineering degree, PE/ACTAR/SAE certifications, and 4+ years of forensic experience.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in forensic accident reconstruction.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Valid PE license, ACTAR certification, and/or SAE certification preferred.
• Experience calculating impact speeds, forces, and trajectories.
• Background in automotive engineering and control systems.
• Experience with computer simulations and CAD tools.
• Prior deposition and courtroom testimony is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct accident investigations by traveling to and documenting accident scenes, downloading vehicle data recorders, performing analysis with crash simulation software, and providing litigation support to clients.
• Initiate client contact and build rapport with insurance examiners, lawyers, and/or adjusters.
• Communicate with clientele regarding scope of work, budget, and timelines.
• Provide expert testimony in depositions or trials when requested.
• Document crash scenes using 3D laser scanners, photography, drones, and measurement tools.
• Analyze vehicle crush patterns and research vehicle specifications and test data.
• Create reports detailing reconstruction processes, findings, and conclusions.
• Research literature to advance reconstruction techniques.
