Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a skilled commissioning specialist to oversee pre-commissioning and commissioning for utility-scale solar, battery storage, and HV substations. This remote role includes regular travel to job sites across the United States.

You will coordinate with engineering, construction, and QA teams, perform performance and reliability testing of communications systems, and ensure compliance with NFPA/NEC and industry standards.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in commissioning utility-scale solar projects.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of networking and communications systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Ability to interpret Electrical and Mechanical Drawings/ Schematics

Responsibilities

• Interpret and implement site specific commissioning plans and adhere to schedules.
• Coordinate with project teams, including engineering, construction, and quality assurance, SCADA to ensure alignment on commissioning activities.
• Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning tests, including performance testing, functional testing, and reliability testing of all communications systems.
• Ensure all commissioning activities comply with industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the commissioning process to ensure optimal performance of SCADA and site communications systems.
• Prepare detailed commissioning reports, documenting test results, issues encountered, and corrective actions taken.
• Continuously improve commissioning processes by incorporating feedback and lessons learned from completed projects.
• Assists site commissioning personnel in establishment of the Safety Tagging, Lockout & Work Permit Program and ensuring compliance with its provisions.
