Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a commissioning specialist for utility-scale solar projects. The role supports pre-commissioning and commissioning of communications systems across sites, with full remote work and regular travel to job sites in the United States.

Responsibilities include testing, fault diagnosis, and reporting on SCADA and communications, ensuring compliance with NFPA/NEC and IEEE/IES/API standards, and coordinating with engineering, construction and QA teams.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in commissioning utility-scale solar projects.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of networking and communications systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and proactive issue-resolution skills.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings/schematics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Interpret site commissioning plans and adhere to schedules.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and QA teams and SCADA for commissioning alignment.
• Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning tests (performance, functional, reliability).
• Ensure commissioning activities comply with NFPA, NEC, IEEE/IES/API standards.
• Troubleshoot issues to optimize SCADA and site communications systems.
• Prepare detailed commissioning reports with test results and corrective actions.
• Improve commissioning processes using lessons learned from projects.
• Support Safety Tagging, Lockout & Work Permit programs and compliance.
