Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a commissioning specialist to support pre-commissioning and active commissioning of communications systems for utility-scale solar and related projects. The role is fully remote with regular travel to various job sites across the United States, with location details discussed during interviews.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in commissioning utility-scale solar power projects.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of networking and communications systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and proactive issue resolution.
• Ability to interpret Electrical and Mechanical Drawings/Schematics.
• Strong organizational and multi-project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and implement site-specific commissioning plans and adhere to schedules.
• Coordinate with project teams to align commissioning activities (engineering, construction, QA, SCADA).
• Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning tests including performance, functional, and reliability testing of communications systems.
• Ensure compliance with standards, safety, and environmental regulations during commissioning.
• Troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal SCADA and site communications performance.
• Prepare detailed commissioning reports with test results and corrective actions.
