Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to support pre-commissioning and commissioning of network and communications for utility-scale solar, storage, and substations. This remote role involves regular travel to various job sites across the United States.

Responsibilities include coordinating with engineering, construction, and QA teams; performing tests of communications systems; and ensuring adherence to NFPA/NEC and IEEE/API standards. Travel and site work required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience commissioning utility-scale solar projects.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of networking and communications systems.
• Familiarity with NFPA/NEC, IEEE/IES/API standards and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and implement site-specific commissioning plans and schedules.
• Coordinate with project teams (engineering, construction, QA, SCADA) for commissioning alignment.
• Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning tests (performance, functional, reliability) of communications systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
• Troubleshoot issues during commissioning to optimize SCADA and communications performance.
• Prepare detailed commissioning reports with test results, issues, and corrective actions.
