Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a commissioning specialist for utility-scale solar projects. This fully remote role involves supporting pre-commissioning and commissioning of network and communications systems, with regular travel to job sites in the United States.

You will coordinate with engineering, construction, and QA teams, perform tests, ensure compliance with NFPA/NEC/IEEE standards, and prepare detailed reports. Strong networking, SCADA, and solar PV knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commissioning utility-scale solar power projects.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of networking and communications systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Ability to interpret Electrical and Mechanical Drawings/ Schematics.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and implement site-specific commissioning plans and adhere to schedules.
• Coordinate with project teams including engineering, construction, and quality assurance, SCADA to align commissioning activities.
• Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning tests including performance, functional, and reliability testing of communications systems.
• Ensure all commissioning activities comply with industry standards, safety and environmental regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure optimal SCADA and site communications performance.
• Prepare detailed commissioning reports documenting test results, issues, and corrective actions taken.
• Continuously improve commissioning processes by incorporating feedback and lessons learned.
