Job summary

Affirm is hiring a Senior Sales Engineer Lead to guide a growing team and close strategic deals. This role combines leadership with hands-on delivery across remote teams, collaborating with Engineering, Product, and Revenue, while maintaining a remote-first, national scope. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Strong communication with developers and business stakeholders is essential to translate requirements into actionable product feedback and winning outcomes.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in business or technology required.
• 4-6+ years in Sales Engineering or similar customer-facing tech role, plus 3-4 years of people management.
• Hands-on with API-based integrations and at least one programming language.
• Excellent communication with developers, business stakeholders, and senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Sales Engineers, setting clear expectations for proficiency and performance.
• Actively participate in deals, supporting live technical discovery, integration discussions, and solution presentations.
• Partner with merchant technical and business leaders when leadership is needed.
• Develop knowledge of Affirm's products, APIs, and integration options to explain tradeoffs and resolve blockers.
• Build, test, and troubleshoot integrations in sandbox environments and coach the team to do the same.
• Apply AI development tools in technical work and coach the team to use them for prototypes and testing.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Revenue to design merchant solutions and address gaps.
• Translate merchant requirements into actionable product feedback and improvements to internal processes.
• Create a respectful, supportive environment with feedback and growth opportunities.
