The Travelers Indemnity Company is offering an Associate Claim Representative, Outside Property program. It provides comprehensive training in claim handling, customer service and policy interpretation to develop skills for 1st party property claims.

The program lasts 9–12 months and progresses to full claims handling. The position is remote with work at residential and commercial locations and may involve travel to support multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Prior internship or work experience in customer service or insurance.
• Willingness to obtain an active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; willingness to learn claims management and estimating software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions within authority.
• Exceptional customer service and positive insured/claimant experience.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills; manage multiple tasks.
• Basic conflict resolution skills; willingness to learn negotiation techniques.
• Demonstrate openness to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in structured training classes on policies, claims processes, systems and procedures.
• Review, investigate, and document 1st party property claims under supervision.
• Gather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses and third parties.
• Learn to determine coverage and evaluate damages per policy terms.
• Create written estimates and computer-generated estimates.
• Provide timely and professional communication to customers and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records in claim management systems.
• Adapt to new technology implementations and digital tool rollouts.
• Acquire and maintain required Insurance Licenses within three months.
• Inspect dwellings and carry/position ladders as needed; potential travel.
