Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a remote Project Developer for Key Accounts to support small commercial HVAC, controls, and digital solutions. You will collaborate with Account Managers, service providers, and national owner-direct customers to identify and develop profitable projects spanning digital offerings and turnkey delivery.

The role emphasizes technical aptitude, business acumen, and strong communication to grow strategic accounts and reinforce the Trane brand. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Engineering, Technical field, Business, or related field required.
• Experience supporting project development, project management, service solutions, turnkey delivery, or construction-related sales support.
• Ability to identify customer needs and translate them into practical, profitable solutions.
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and building systems.
• Understanding of construction methods and coordination with subcontractors.
• Auditing existing mechanical/building systems and recommending improvements.
• Strong estimating, scoping, and proposal support capabilities.
• HVAC system-level sequences of operations knowledge is a plus.
• Proficiency in Visio, AutoCAD and similar design software; familiarity with digital platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop small commercial HVAC, controls, connected building, digital, service, and turnkey solutions.
• Partner with Account Managers to identify profitable opportunities across national owner-direct accounts.
• Assist in project scoping, concept development, and preliminary design.
• Support budgets, RFQs, scopes, schedules, and milestones with Account Managers.
• Coordinate with providers and internal teams to align on delivery plans.
• Provide technical and solution-development support in pursuit of Trane business.
• Manage design support and turnover to execution teams.
• Refine processes to improve project development across digital, service, and turnkey offerings.
• Support customers from development through operations handoff.
• Drive customer satisfaction and long-term account growth.
• Some travel required; other duties as assigned.
