Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Senior HVAC Project Developer to lead front-end development by evaluating customer facility needs, conducting facility and project opportunity assessments, and developing strategic solutions tailored to customer objectives. Some travel is required within the Midwest.

The role advances opportunities through the development phase by partnering with Pre-Construction, Estimating, Project Management, and external partners to create scope and position projects for

Qualifications

• Subject matter expert in mechanical HVAC systems with knowledge of energy, building design, estimating and construction.
• Experience or familiarity with project development processes and cost estimation is preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex energy, infrastructure, and facility modernization opportunities from qualification through contract execution.
• Evaluate mechanical, electrical, and building systems to identify risks, maintenance needs, and improvements.
• Partner with technical experts to develop HVAC modernization, building automation, energy efficiency, and other solutions.
• Collaborate with designers, contractors, estimators, and operations teams to ensure practical, executable solutions.
• Ensure codes and standards compliance for project solutions.
• Manage project team costs and coordination among team members.
• Coordinate with consultants, trade partners, and utilities for energy-saving building solutions.
• Develop compelling business cases for capital investments considering lifecycle costs and ROI.
• Quantify and submit for utility rebates through coordination with utility partners.
• Serve as SME during customer presentations, design reviews, and solution discussions, guiding capital investments.
