Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Production Support Engineer to remotely support VA cloud systems. Responsibilities include high-level operational support, troubleshooting, and documentation while coordinating with customers and cross-functional teams.

The role requires 8+ years in systems engineering, strong AWS/Azure experience, Linux/Windows expertise, and on-call availability. This is a 100% US-based remote position with a Public Trust (MBI) clearance path.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or related field, production environments.
• 3+ years of experience with SQL queries and monitoring.
• Experience with AWS/Azure Cloud services (S3, Step Functions, Batch, CloudWatch).
• Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows systems; scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level operational support of complex cloud systems.
• Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
• Document problems and report outages with diagnostic data for recovery.
