Job summary

Connections Health Solutions is seeking an Accountant, Payroll to manage multi-state payroll processing and related accounting duties. The role covers bi-weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt staff, benefit deferrals, and 401k reporting, with strict confidentiality and compliance requirements.

Based remotely across eligible states, you will collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure accurate payments, tax filings, and year-end reporting while maintaining robust internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field.
• 2-3 years of payroll processing experience.
• Experience running payroll in a multi-state environment.
• Strong payroll tax compliance, reconciliation and reporting.
• Experience with garnishments, levies, liens and subpoenas.
• Familiarity with benefits rules and regulations.
• Excel and analytical reporting proficiency.
• Excellent problem solving, organizational and communication skills.
• Vaccination policy compliance and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll bi-weekly for exempt and non-exempt employees using Ceridian/Dayforce.
• Coordinate with managers to ensure accurate hours and approvals.
• Update 401k deferrals, employer match, and loans in payroll system.
• Handle garnishments and tax levy calculations as required.
• Process off-cycle payrolls and year-end reporting (W-2, 401K census).
• Maintain payroll records and collaborate with HR, FP&A, and third parties.
• Develop and follow payroll procedures; assist with audits as needed.
• Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
