Job summary

Connections Health Solutions is seeking an experienced Accountant, Payroll to manage bi-weekly payroll and support accounts payable for a remote position across multiple states. This role requires strong attention to detail, compliance with payroll tax laws, and effective collaboration with HR and Finance teams.

Responsibilities include processing payroll in Ceridian/Dayforce, managing 401k deferrals and garnishments, and performing AP-related tasks when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2-3 years of payroll processing experience.
• Experience running payroll in a multi-state environment.
• Strong background in payroll tax compliance, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
• Experience with Accounts Payable functions (invoice processing, vendor management, or AP reconciliations)

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices for payment and assist with AP reconciliations.
• Maintain vendor records and 1099 reporting support.
• Assist with monthly AP reconciliations and aging reports.
• Provide backup coverage to AP team during peak periods.
• Payroll processing using Ceridian/Dayforce for bi-weekly payroll.
• Update 401k deferrals, employer match, and 401k loans in payroll system.
• Verify and process 401k payroll data.
• Set up garnishments and tax levies; process off-cycle payrolls.
• Ensure compliance with payroll taxes and tax rules.
• Generate payroll analytics prior to payroll funding.
• Collaborate with HR, FP&A to optimize payroll configurations.
• Create and maintain payroll and accounting SOPs.
• Assist with quarterly and year-end audits.
• Serve as a point of contact for payroll-related questions.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
