Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credentials required.
• 2+ years hospital coding experience.
• Experience in Same Day Surgery and Observation coding.
• Knowledge of E/M leveling and APC guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation.
• Assign discharge disposition accurately.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Communicate documentation improvements and coding issues for follow-up.
• Maintain coding accuracy and APC assignment with productivity targets.
