Job summary

Datavant is seeking an experienced Outpatient Coder to join our remote team. You will review medical records, assign diagnoses and procedures, and ensure accurate sequencing and discharge disposition. You’ll abstract data for reporting and strive for top coding accuracy while meeting productivity standards.

The role requires 2+ years hospital coding experience, CCS or CPC/AAPC or AHIMA credentials, and proficiency with Epic and 3M. Strong communication and remote-work abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of coding experience in hospital or coding consulting role.
• AHIMA or AAPC certification required (CCS or CPC/CPC-H/etc.).
• Experience with Epic and 3M software.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes according to documentation and assign discharge disposition.
• Abstract data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Maintain high coding accuracy and meet productivity standards.
• Communicate documentation and coding issues to relevant teams.
