Job summary

Datavant is seeking an experienced Outpatient Coder (SDS/OBS) to join our remote team. You will review records, assign diagnoses and procedures, and ensure accurate APC sequencing with a focus on quality and compliance. A CCS or RHIA/RHIT or CPC credential is required, with Epic and 3M proficiency.

You will work from home with a flexible schedule and contribute to healthcare data integrity and reporting while maintaining high productivity and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Adeptness in remote work and strong time management.
• Experience with coding in hospital settings, especially Same Day Surgery and Observation.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation and ensure proper discharge disposition.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
