Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced outpatient coders to join our remote team. This role requires a CCS/CPC or AHIMA credential and at least two years of hospital coding experience, with proficiency in Epic and 3M.

You will review records, assign diagnoses and procedures, and ensure accurate data abstraction while maintaining high accuracy and productivity. We offer a fully remote, flexible schedule, with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of coding experience in hospital or coding consulting role.
• AHIMA CCS or RHIA/RHIT, or AAPC CPC/CPC-H/COC/CIC/CRC credentials required.
• Experience with Epic and 3M, and ability to review and clear coding edits.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation and assign discharge dispositions.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics.
• Maintain high coding accuracy and productivity per site standards.
• Communicate documentation improvement opportunities to relevant staff.
