Job summary

Datavant is seeking an experienced outpatient coder to join our remote team. You will review records, assign diagnoses and procedures, and ensure accurate coding with a focus on ED, I&I, and facility leveling. CCS or AHIMA/AAPC credentials are preferred, with Epic/Clintegrity experience.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and reliable time management. This PRN/remote position offers flexible scheduling and professional growth within a health data platform.

Qualifications

• Review medical records and assign codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital reporting.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and APC accuracy.
• 2+ years of hospital coding experience; HIPAA competency.
• Experience with Epic and Clintegrity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes.
• Sequence codes based on documentation.
• Determine discharge disposition where applicable.
• Enter coded data for statistical reporting.
• Communicate coding issues for follow up and resolution.
• Maintain productivity and credentialing through CEUs.
