Job summary

Datavant is seeking an experienced outpatient coder for a remote PRN role. The ideal candidate will have AHIMA or AAPC credentialing and 2+ years of hospital coding experience, with proficiency in Epic and Clintegrity.

You will review records, assign diagnoses and procedures, and ensure accurate APC/discharge coding while maintaining high quality and compliance standards. The position offers a flexible remote schedule, with opportunities to contribute to data quality and healthcare analytics

Qualifications

• AHIMA credentials or AAPC credentials required.
• Minimum 2+ years coding in hospital or coding consulting role.
• Experience with Epic and Clintegrity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation and assign discharge disposition.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Maintain high coding accuracy and productivity as per site standards.
• Communicate coding issues and opportunities for documentation improvement.
