Job summary

Advocate Health seeks an Educator/Trainer to support PB Coding and Coding Integrity teams. You will deliver and develop coding education, both in-person and virtually, and align sessions with evolving coding standards.

You will stay current on adult learning concepts, schedule offerings, and produce trainer materials while collaborating with leadership to close educational gaps across the Revenue Cycle.

Qualifications

• Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Coding Specialist.
• Typically requires 5 years of experience in medical coding that includes experiences in physician revenue cycle processes, health information workflows.

Responsibilities

• Presents coding and documentation education for initial training and continuing education to coders and clinicians.
• Develops and maintains web-based coding education programs; assigns lessons and tracks progress.
• Identifies educational needs and collaborates to enhance programs with one-on-one and refresher sessions.
• Stays current with adult learning concepts and schedules education offerings.
• Creates trainer materials and facilitates trainings including in-person and virtual formats.
• Provides train-the-trainer sessions for Coding Supervisors and Coding Leads.
