Job summary

Signature Performance is seeking a remote Medical Coder specializing in Surgery/Anesthesia coding. You will work with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS codes to accurately classify encounters across various records.

The role requires a minimum of two years of Medical Coding experience, proficiency with EHR systems, and relevant AHIMA or AAPC certifications. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Coding experience.
• Experience with Professional Fee Coding.
• Experience with EHR systems.
• AHIMA or AAPC certifications include RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC (as applicable).

Responsibilities

• Assign principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures from medical records.
• Review records to determine diagnoses and procedures and assign codes.
• Ensure correct code selection following coding guidelines and regulations.
• Sequence diagnoses/procedures by clinical significance for DRG/APC/payments.
• Review coding for accuracy before submission to billing.
• Abstract data from records and enter into systems, correcting errors.
• Identify incomplete documentation and request clarifications to complete coding.
• Meet coding quality and quantity expectations.
