Job summary

Signature Performance is seeking a Medical Coder specializing in Surgery/Anesthesia for a fully remote, nationwide role. You will review medical records, assign E/M codes, CPT, ICD-10-CM/PCS, and ensure compliant coding for accurate reimbursement.

Minimum 2 years of professional coding, familiarity with EHRs, and AHIMA/AAPC credentials (RHIT/RHIA/CCA/CCS/CCS-P/CPC) are required. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Coding experience
• Experience with Professional Fee Coding
• Experience with EHR systems
• AHIMA or AAPC credentials recognized (RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC)

Responsibilities

• Assign principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures by reviewing documentation
• Review discharge summaries, notes, radiology and lab results to code accurately
• Ensure correct code selection per official guidelines and regulations
• Code to support appropriate DRG/APC/tier for reimbursement
• Abstract data from records and correct data in systems as needed
• Identify incomplete documentation and query physicians for clarification
