Job summary

Signature Performance is seeking a Medical Coder skilled in Surgery/Anesthesia coding, ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS. The role focuses on accurate evaluation and management coding based on comprehensive chart review.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of professional coding experience and AHIMA/AAPC credentials. Responsibilities include assigning diagnoses and procedures, ensuring compliance with CMS/JCAHO requirements, and querying for missing documentation as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Coding experience.
• Experience with Professional Fee Coding.
• Experience with EHR systems.
• AHIMA or AAPC certification options include RHIT/RHIA/CCA/CCS/CCS-P/CPC.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to assign principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign codes following Official Coding Guidelines and regulations.
• Sequence diagnoses/procedures by clinical significance for DRG/APC assignment.
• Review coding for accuracy before submission to billing.
• Abstract data from medical records and correct discrepancies in the system.
• Identify incomplete or conflicting documentation and query physicians for clarification.
• Meet coding quality and quantity expectations.
