Job summary

Signature Performance is seeking a Medical Coder with expertise in Surgery/Anesthesia to work remotely nationwide. You will review medical records, assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS codes, and ensure documentation supports correct DRG/APC determination for proper reimbursement.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of professional coding experience, experience with EHR systems, and AHIMA or AAPC certifications (RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CCS-P/CPC). Join a team that values accuracy and integrity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Coding experience required.
• Experience with Professional Fee Coding.
• Experience with EHR systems.
• AHIMA or AAPC certifications: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC.

Responsibilities

• Assign principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures by reviewing documentation.
• Review discharge summaries, H&Ps, progress notes, radiology, labs, pathology, and operative reports to assign codes.
• Ensure correct code selection following Official Coding Guidelines and regulations.
• Assign DRG/APC/payor tier based on clinical significance and documentation.
• Review coding for accuracy before submission to billing.
• Abstract medical and demographic data and enter into the system; correct errors.
• Identify incomplete or conflicting documentation and query physicians as needed.
• Meet coding quality and quantity expectations.
