Job summary

Signature Performance is seeking a remote Medical Coder specializing in Surgery/Anesthesia to support nationwide enc outer coding operations.

You will assign diagnoses and procedures, review medical records, ensure compliance with guidelines, and determine DRG/APC for accurate reimbursement while meeting quality standards.

The role requires 2+ years of coding experience, professional fee coding emphasis, and AHIMA or AAPC certification with strong attention to detail and integrity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Coding experience required.
• Experience with Professional Fee Coding.
• Experience with EHR systems.
• Accepted certifications: RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC.

Responsibilities

• Assign principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures by reviewing documentation.
• Review discharge summaries, progress notes, radiology, labs and operative reports to assign codes.
• Ensure correct code selection and compliance with official guidelines and regulations.
• Sequence diagnoses/procedures by clinical significance to determine DRG/APC.
• Review coding for accuracy before submission to billing.
• Abstract data from medical records and correct errors in the database.
• Identify missing documentation and query physicians to complete coding.
• Meet coding quality and quantity expectations.
