Job summary

Signature Performance is seeking a Medical Coder specialized in Surgery and Anesthesia for a remote nationwide role. You will work with E/M ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS codes, and documentation to assign accurate diagnoses and procedures.

Responsibilities include reviewing records, ensuring guidelines compliance, and abstracting data to support proper DRG and payment tiers, while maintaining coding accuracy and completeness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Coding experience
• Experience with Professional Fee Coding
• Experience with EHR systems
• Certifications from AHIMA or AAPC include RHIT/RHIA/CCA/CCS/CCS-P/CPC

Responsibilities

• Assign principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures from medical records.
• Review records to determine diagnoses treated and procedures performed, assign codes.
• Ensure correct code selection per Official Coding Guidelines and regulations.
• Sequence diagnoses/procedures by clinical significance for DRG/APC/payments.
• Review coding for accuracy before submission to billing.
• Abstract data from records into the system and correct errors.
• Ensure CMS/JCAHO/client documentation compliance and obtain missing documentation via physician queries.
