Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Category Manager, Logistics Services to lead sourcing of transportation, fleet, and courier services in a remote US-based role within the Supply Chain unit. You will partner with internal clients and suppliers to develop category strategies and drive measurable improvements in cost, service, and risk.

Responsibilities include negotiating contracts, analyzing spend, and managing supplier performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
• Master's degree is preferred.
• Professional certification (e.g. C.P.M., CPSM, CIRM, CPIM, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute category strategies for assigned logistics services.
• Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy development through market assessment and supplier selection.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing terms to secure favorable conditions while managing risk.
• Analyze spend to identify opportunities to improve cost, service, efficiency, and risk, with measurable value.
• Analyze spend, cost drivers, market conditions and business requirements to evaluate alternatives and support decisions.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers; define KPIs and governance to drive performance and risk management.
• Partner with internal clients and cross-functional stakeholders to align strategies and implement sourcing initiatives.
• Maintain category governance and provide timely reporting on activities and outcomes.
