Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Category Manager, Logistics Services, to lead sourcing and category strategy across transportation, fleet, and related logistics services. This remote US role partners with internal clients and Supply Management to develop strategy, negotiate contracts, and improve cost and service metrics.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's in Supply Management (Master's preferred), 7+ years of experience, and strong skills in supplier management and data-driven

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Professional certification (e.g. C.P.M., CPSM, CIRM, CPIM) preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Experience managing third-party spend within a large organization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute category strategies for assigned logistics services.
• Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy development through market assessment and contracting.
• Lead negotiations for contracts and pricing while managing risk.
• Analyze procurement spend and implement opportunities to improve total cost and service.
• Analyze spend, market conditions, and business requirements to support sourcing decisions.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers; define KPIs and governance aligned with mission objectives.
• Partner with internal clients and cross-functional stakeholders to drive successful implementation.
• Maintain category and supplier documentation and provide timely reporting on performance.
