Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Category Manager, Logistics Services to lead sourcing and supplier management for transportation, fleet, and courier services across the organization. Reporting to the Director of Supply Management, you will develop category strategies, negotiate contracts, track performance, and collaborate with internal clients to improve cost, service, and risk.

This is a virtual position based in the United States, with responsibilities spanning the full supply chain

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
• Master's degree preferred; Professional certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Category Strategy & Planning: Develop, document, and execute category strategies for assigned logistics services based on business requirements, spend and demand analysis, market intelligence, supplier capabilities, risk, and total cost considerations.
• Strategic Sourcing: Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy development through market assessment, competitive solicitation, supplier evaluation and selection, contracting, and implementation.
• Negotiation & Commercial Management: Develop strategies and lead negotiations for contracts and pricing, securing favorable terms and conditions while managing risk and ensuring compliance.
• Cost, Value & Performance Improvement: Analyze procurement spend and identify, implement, and track opportunities to improve total cost, service, efficiency, financial performance, risk, and supply continuity.
• Analysis & Business Cases: Analyze spend, cost drivers, market conditions, supplier capabilities, operational requirements, and other relevant information; develop business cases and support sourcing decisions.
• Supplier Management & Performance: Define KPIs and governance, monitor supplier performance, address escalated issues, and drive corrective action.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal clients to understand requirements and ensure successful implementation of sourcing initiatives.
• Category Governance & Reporting: Maintain documentation and provide timely reporting on strategies, activities, and performance.
