Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP seeks a Practice Innovation Attorney to serve as the innovation partner for the Litigation Practice Specialty Centers. The role focuses on improving legal service delivery through knowledge management, workflow optimization, and AI-enabled solutions, collaborating with attorneys and business teams to scale impact.

Responsibilities include designing scalable knowledge assets, piloting AI tools, and translating practice needs into practical, efficient workflows.

Qualifications

• D. and a 4-year degree in a relevant field required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a practicing attorney or in knowledge management, innovation, or legal operations.
• Proven experience with legal technology, generative AI, knowledge management principles, and process improvement.
• Exceptional relationship-building, consulting, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive change without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the innovation partner for the Litigation Practice Specialty Centers (PSC), helping improve legal service delivery through practice innovation, knowledge management, workflow optimization, and technology adoption.
• Identify and implement innovative approaches that improve legal service delivery, increase scalability, and strengthen client outcomes while ensuring work product remains guided by attorney judgment.
• Analyze legal workflows, develop reusable legal knowledge assets, and design and implements AI-enabled workflows and solutions.
• Bridge between legal practitioners, Practice Innovation, technology teams, and other business functions to translate practice needs into practical, sustainable solutions that improve attorney effectiveness and client value.
• Lead innovation, knowledge management, and workflow improvement projects for the Litigation PSC from concept through implementation.
• Contribute to the development of client-facing solutions, alternative service delivery models, and other strategic innovation initiatives.
• Support client presentations, demonstrations, feedback sessions, proposals, and business development initiatives that showcase the firm’s Practice Innovation capabilities.
• Monitor developments in legal technology, knowledge management, artificial intelligence, and legal service delivery and participate in relevant firm, client, and industry events.
