Lumen is seeking a Lead SRE for a fully remote role within the United States to own the reliability of the NaaS platform, partnering with operations and development teams to improve observability, automation, and incident response across multiple networks and cloud environments.

You will build dashboards, tune alerts, and champion SRE practices while mentoring junior engineers and keeping thorough documentation to support scalable, resilient infrastructure.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, computer science, or related field.
• 8+ years in software development, systems engineering, and or networking.
• 5+ years of related experience required.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong automation and infrastructure-as-code skills: Terraform, Ansible, and Python.
• Experience running containerized workloads on Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge of modern observability and monitoring tooling (Datadog, CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus).
• Demonstrated experience with incident management and blameless postmortems.
• Comfort using AI-assisted development and agentic tools as part of daily engineering practice.
• Understanding of network technologies including Internet, Ethernet, IPVPN, Edge Compute, and Optical transport.
• Strong listening and communication skills; autonomous but know when to escalate.

Responsabilidades

• Reliability & Observability: Serve as subject matter expert for network automation platform applications, services, and hosting environments.
• Observability: Build and maintain the observability stack, instrument services, collect metrics, and create dashboards for quick health views.
• Alerting: Define and tune proactive alerts to surface issues before customers notice.
• SRE Principles: Champion SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets and advocate for resilient architecture.
• Incident Management: Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response for outages.
• Postmortems: Drive blameless postmortems and root cause analysis with follow-up actions.
• Toil Reduction: Prevent recurrence through process improvements and knowledge sharing.
• Automation & Infrastructure: Automate CI/CD pipelines and cloud provisioning; use IaC.
• Tooling & AI: Develop tools that reduce toil and enable independent management of services; apply AI-assisted workflows.
• Collaboration & Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers; maintain documentation.
